The presentation box was sturdy and pretty.
Inside, the cookies and brownies were each individually wrapped in clear plastic. This helped ensure freshness, but also gave the impression of snacks from a vending machine!
Also, the brownies were quite small, and the cookies were average-sized. Neither looked especially appealing. The baked goods only filled the box about half way. This not only increased the risk of breakage, but also looked as if some of the contents had been removed. Who gives half a box of cookies as a gift?
The cookies were quite hard. This was probably a result of the cold weather, and the package included a note suggesting that the cookies be microwaved to soften them. The cookies tasted pretty good, but were not the rich, decadent treat that I had hoped for.
The brownies were a little better - cake-like, with a strong chocolate flavor.
Neither product contained nuts. This was a perk for my recipient, who does not care for nuts. When viewing the product online, I couldn't find ingredients listed, so had to look at pictures and guess! I'm glad they were, indeed, nut free!
They were certainly edible, and the box looked great. If you don't bake or need to ship cross-country, these could be a fit for you. Otherwise, you might consider making a batch of plain old Tollhouse cookies at home - you'll save a lot of money and get a fresher, better tasting cookie!
