(More customer reviews)I got this candy because I love to remember eating sushi when I am not and the plum wine they pour over oranges or the sour plum cucumber rolls. This candy has a very light taste. It is not sweet in the same way american candy is. This is different from Kasugai Honey Plum (Hachimitsu Ume) Hard candy in that it does not have a noticible liqueur flavor. I think both candies are equally wonderful they are just subtly different. If you want less liqeur flavor get this one. For more of an alcohol flavor get Kasugai Honey Plum (Hachimitsu Ume) Hard candy. This is very cleansing for the palate after a strongly flavored meal. I had a lunch filled with fresh garlic for lunch and it cleansed my palate. This one also does not seem like it would be as much of an acquired taste for some people it is closer to a conventional candy for westerners. I am not Asian, but eat everything from all cultures and just keep finding more favorite products from pier mall.
I gave this candy to a typical american Mac and Cheese american 13 yo and he loved it. He had a second right after.
