(More customer reviews)I received this as a shower gift, having recently had a newborn. While he was 8.5 pounds at birth, the size 1 diapers included we weren't able to use until he was almost 6 weeks old (their diapers are pretty generously sized). The wipes we could use immediately, and I do like them, although I prefer the 7th Generation wipes. We have not used the formula, but have kept it on hand in case we needed it for emergencies (part of our emergency prep stash now). At the earliest, the cereal can't be used until 4 or 6 months (depending on your physician's recommendation) - so it just has to sit around and wait. I thought that was the most useless part of the pack, as I have not yet been able to give it to my baby.
The body wash/shampoo also comes in handy. Here are the ingredients:
Aqua (Purified Water) Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Gel* Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate Di-Steareth-75 IPDI Coco-Betaine Vegetable Glycerin Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Oil Beta-Glucan Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit. E) Anthemus Nobilis (Chamomile) Flower Extract* Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract* Calendula Officinalis (Marigold) Flower Extract* Panthenol (Vit.B5) Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil Citric Acid Benzyl Alcohol Potassium Sorbate Sodium Benzoate. *certified organic
It has a nice lavender smell and has not irritated our baby's skin. However, he doesn't seem to have sensitive skin, so keep that under consideration. I like the way the Burt's Bees baby shampoo/body wash smells better and will continue to use that once the Earth's Best is gone.
The value, as compared to what you can purchase at Target or Babies R Us is good - but if you join Club Mom at Amazon, the prices are much better for diapers and wipes. Since the only portion of the pack that I'll continue to use are the diapers, I'm giving it 3 stars.
